The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission into the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP). Through NCET, candidates can secure admission in various Central Universities, State Universities, IITs, NITs, RIEs and Government Colleges offering teacher education programs.

The four-year ITEP course has been designed to prepare highly qualified teachers for the future education system. The program integrates subject knowledge, pedagogy and practical teaching experience into a single degree structure.

Candidates who qualify NCET 2026 will be eligible to participate in counselling and admission procedures conducted by participating institutions. Admission will be granted based on NCET score, merit rank, seat availability and institution-specific admission rules.

NCET scores are accepted by various prestigious institutions including Central Universities, State Universities, IITs, NITs, RIEs and Government Colleges across India. Some major participating institutions include AMU, IGNOU, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bhubaneswar, Pondicherry University, Central University of Haryana, Central University of Rajasthan, Guru Nanak Dev University and many more.
