This recruitment drive was conducted to fill 1206 prestigious administrative and forest service positions across India. Candidates who participated in the Prelims, Mains, and subsequent Interview rounds can now access their final status, merit list, and category-wise reserve marks. Indian Administrative Service (IAS) 1056 Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university in India.
Indian Forest Service (IFS) 150 Bachelor’s Degree with at least one subject: Animal Husbandry, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Math, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, or Agriculture.
Selection Process
The UPSC selection involves a rigorous three-stage process:
  • Stage 1: Preliminary Examination – Two objective-type papers (General Studies & CSAT) acting as a screening test.
  • Stage 2: Main Examination – Nine descriptive papers including language papers, essay, and four General Studies papers plus optional subjects.
  • Stage 3: Personality Test (Interview) – A final face-to-face assessment by the UPSC board to evaluate suitability for administrative roles.
Exam Pattern & Syllabus Brief
  • Prelims: Paper I (GS) – 200 Marks | Paper II (CSAT) – 200 Marks (Qualifying 33%).
  • Mains: Written exam for 1750 marks. Includes GS I (History/Geo), GS II (Polity/Gov), GS III (Eco/Tech), GS IV (Ethics), and Optional Papers.
  • Syllabus: Covers Current Affairs, History of India, World Geography, Indian Polity, Economic Development, Environmental Ecology, and General Science.
Salary & Pay Scale
  • Starting Basic Pay: Approximately 56,100/- (Level 10 of 7th CPC).
  • Allowances: Includes DA, HRA, Travel Allowance, and medical benefits.
  • Maximum Pay: Can reach up to 2,50,000/- for Cabinet Secretary level positions.
