| Short Information: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has released a major dual update for the Class VI Selection Test (JNVST) 2026. For candidates in Summer Bound areas, the entrance exam result has been officially declared today. Simultaneously, for candidates in Winter Bound regions (primarily hilly areas), the Admit Cards for the Phase II examination scheduled for April 2026 are now available for download. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are prestigious co-educational residential schools providing high-quality education from Class VI to XII. Admission is based on a competitive merit-based selection test conducted across 654 schools pan-India. Parents and guardians must check the specific exam phase and region to access the relevant documents or results. |

1. Age Limit: For the session 2026-27, the candidate must be born between 01/05/2014 and 31/07/2016 (both dates inclusive). This applies to all categories, including SC and ST.
2. Educational Requirement: The candidate must be studying in Class V for the entire academic session in a Government, Government-aided, or recognized school in the same district where he/she seeks admission. 3. Domicile Rule: Admission is restricted to candidates belonging to the district where the JNV is located. Valid residence proof (Aadhaar or Domicile certificate) is mandatory during the final admission phase. 4. Attempt Rule: A candidate is allowed to appear for the JNVST only once. Candidates who appeared in previous years are strictly ineligible. |
Exam Pattern & Syllabus (Class 6th)
Selection Test Pattern
- Test Format: The exam is an objective type OMR-based test consisting of 80 questions.
- Total Marks: 100 Marks (1.25 marks per correct answer).
- Duration: 2 Hours (11:30 AM to 01:30 PM).
- Sections:
- Mental Ability Test (40 Questions | 50 Marks)
- Arithmetic Test (20 Questions | 25 Marks)
- Language Test (20 Questions | 25 Marks)
- Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
- Mental Ability: Non-verbal test focusing on visualization, patterns, and spatial orientation (Odd-man out, Figure matching, Pattern completion).
- Arithmetic: Number systems, LCM/HCF, Decimals, Fractions, Percentage, Profit/Loss, and Simple Interest.
- Language: Reading comprehension based on 4 short passages in the regional language or English/Hindi as opted.
Admission & Reservation Policy
- Rural Reservation: At least 75% of the seats in a district are filled by candidates selected from rural areas of the district.
- SC/ST Reservation: Reserved in proportion to their population in the district, subject to a minimum of the national average.
- Girl Candidates: 1/3 (33%) of the total seats are reserved for female candidates.
- Divyang (PH): 3% seats are reserved for students with disabilities as per Govt. norms.

- ✔ Visit the official NVS website (navodaya.gov.in) or use the direct link below.
- ✔ For Result: Click on ‘JNVST Class VI Result 2026’. Enter the Registration Number and Date of Birth to view the selection status.
- ✔ For Admit Card: Click on the ‘Download Admit Card for Phase II (Winter Bound)’ link.
- ✔ Enter your login credentials (Registration No. & DOB).
- ✔ Download the Admit Card and verify the exam center details, date, and reporting time.
- ✔ In case of selection, candidates must prepare documents like the Class 5th marksheet, Domicile certificate, and Category certificate for the verification round.
