| Short Information: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has officially announced the exam dates and admit card availability for the Assistant Engineer (AE) Combined Competitive Mains Examination 2024. This recruitment, issued under Advertisement No. 10/2024-25, covers 1036 vacancies across Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Agriculture disciplines. Candidates who successfully cleared the Preliminary stage are now eligible to appear for the Mains Exam scheduled for late March 2026. This stage is crucial for securing a position in key state departments like PHED, PWD, and Water Resources. Applicants can check their allotted exam city and download their official hall tickets through the RPSC SSO portal. 1. Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a B.E. / B.Tech Degree in the relevant trade (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Agriculture) from any recognized institute in India. Final-year appearing students were also eligible to apply.

Mains Exam Pattern & Syllabus
RPSC AE Mains Pattern
- Exam Nature: The Mains exam is descriptive/conventional, unlike the objective Prelims.
- Compulsory Papers: All candidates must appear for General Hindi and General Knowledge & General Science (200 marks each).
- Optional Papers: Two technical papers based on the candidate’s core engineering discipline (200 marks each).
- Total Marks: The written Mains exam carries a total weightage of 800 marks.
- Duration: Each paper is conducted in a 3-hour session over the 2-day exam period.
- General Hindi: Grammar, Translation, Precise Writing, and Letter Writing.
- General Knowledge: Current affairs, Indian and Rajasthan Geography, History, and Economy.
- Technical: Core engineering concepts ranging from Structural Analysis (Civil), Power Systems (Electrical), Thermodynamics (Mechanical), to Farm Machinery (Agriculture).
Selection Process
- Preliminary Exam: Objective screening test to filter candidates for the Mains.
- Mains Exam: Conventional descriptive test focusing on general and technical aptitude.
- Personal Interview: Candidates who clear the Mains cutoff are called for a personality test (72 marks).
- Document Verification: Original certificates and domicile proof are checked before final posting.
- Final Recommendation: Based on combined scores of Mains and Interview.
Salary / Pay Scale Details
The RPSC Assistant Engineer is a high-ranking Gazetted post in the Rajasthan State Government.
1. Pay Matrix: Appointed at Pay Matrix Level L-14 (Grade Pay #5,400).
2. Probation Period: During the 2-year probation, a fixed remuneration is paid as per state rules.
3. Post-Probation Salary: The basic pay starts from #56,100. Including DA, HRA, and other allowances, the monthly gross salary ranges between #78,000 – #85,000.

- ✔ Visit the official RPSC website or the Rajasthan SSO portal.
- ✔ Login using your SSO ID and Password.
- ✔ Click on the ‘Recruitment Portal’ and navigate to the ‘Get Admit Card’ section.
- ✔ Select ‘Asst. Engineer Comb. Comp. (Mains) Exam 2024’.
- ✔ Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth.
- ✔ Download and print two copies of the admit card on A4 size paper.
- ✔ Ensure the photograph and QR code are printed clearly for scanning at the venue.
